Kudzu Art Zone became a 501(c)(3) corporation in June 2006 when a group of artists shared a vision of a thriving artist community. In late 2006, the city of Norcross donated a 3,200 square foot building at 116 Carlyle Street, Kudzu Art Zone’s current home. The building has a gallery, 8 artist’s studios, and ample space for meetings, workshops, and artist development opportunities. The Kudzu Art Zone has become a place of fellowship where over 100 artist members have access to a community of support, space, and professional development opportunities.

Kudzu Art Zone is a cultural leader. As such, it serves the artist community and promotes the importance of the visual arts to individual growth, cultural heritage, and economic growth. Kudzu Art Zone organizes and presents exhibitions and programs by local, regional, national and international artists. The Pediatric Vision Development Center specializes in providing vision therapy and vision rehabilitation services to patients of all ages.  Their vision therapy services improve visual skills for kids struggling in school and gives them the visual tools needed to help them improve academically.  Their vision rehabilitation services help people with vision problems following a brain injury (including concussions) to regain visual abilities and improve visual comfort so they can better function when returning to work or school.

Since 1973, Hemophilia of Georgia (HoG) has operated as a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services and support for Georgians who have hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders.  Their mission is to enable people affected by bleeding disorders to live productive lives.  The only agency of its kind in the state, Hemophilia of Georgia works to enhance client’s care and quality of life.

Led by a volunteer board of directors, Hemophilia of Georgia is dedicated to its mission.  Hemophilia of Georgia’s nonprofit pharmacy provides convenient home delivery of clotting factor and other medication at competitive prices.  In addition to our accredited pharmacies, Hemophilia of Georgia provides home infusion training, education, and outreach services.  They know it takes more than medicine to support the bleeding disorder community.

Located on the corner of Milledge and Cobb within Athens’ historic Cobbham District, Donderos’ has been crafting culinary delights for the community for nearly 9 years. Family owned and oriented, they pride themselves on providing their customers with a friendly and personalized experience.

Donderos’ features a full-service café with locally roasted coffees, fine teas, and an extensive selection of baked goods. Their signature sandwiches, house-made soups and salads, cold sesame noodles and deli dishes, as always, include vegetarian options and gluten-free offerings. Tim Dondero, Executive Chef, is an international medical researcher, as well as a chef, cooking teacher, and food writer. He can work with interested catering customers in designing special menus for international focus or special dietary requirements. The staff also includes fine cooks and bakers.

The WES Leukemia Research Foundation is a Gwinnett County birthed non-profit that is seeking the day When Everyone Survives by investing in new, innovative and potentially curative leukemia research. They work very hard to keep overhead extremely low so that all funds raised go directly to research. Each spring, they have a Medical Advisory Board that reviews the grants submitted to WES from researchers all around the world and they determine the top grant recipients – who will receive $50,000 towards their research on July 1st. Even though a cure has not been found, yet, WES Foundation funded research has been extremely successful in development and many new treatment options have been discovered that provide a better quality of life for those going through a battle with leukemia.

Coleman Middle School (CMS) is Gwinnett County’s flagship STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) middle school. Coleman focuses on integrating humanities, math, science, engineering, and technology to investigate and solve real world problems. Students investigate problems through the Engineering Design Process (EDP). All faculty members emphasize EDP as a problem solving model for all disciplines.

Sheryl Dornblaser/Pricilla’s Cottage Alzheimer’s Day Care

Priscilla’s Cottage is a social memory care day program. They provide a safe engaging environment for their participants while the primary caregivers get a much needed break. Their hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The caregivers choose how much time their loved ones is with us. They can choose a minimum of one hour up to all day. The pricing is flexible, hourly, ½ day or full day. Lunch and snacks are provided as well as hydration throughout the day.
